  7.     Democrats know no one can get down and dirty like G.O.P.
  8. Chairman Lee Atwater. His tactics in last year's presidential
  9. campaign had them singing the blues. But then, that's his
  10. favorite kind of music. On weekends Atwater, who played with a
  11. soul band in high school and has been at it ever since, has been
  12. flying to Nashville to record his first album, with R. and B.
  13. greats B.B. King and Isaac Hayes. Proceeds from the album, set
  14. for release early next year, will go to charity. And a-one and
  15. a-two: "I woke up this morning; sun didn't shine./ Scared six
  16. Democrats, and now I feel fine."
